Great Grandfather sits writing by candlelight in his book. Years later, his great granddaughter discovers all about him as, phone in hand, she surfs the web.
Using dance and live music, this inclusive performance explores branches of communication, from cave paintings to telegrams, to the technology of the digital age. It encourages us to understand how we relate to the world in our own unique way.
There are over 100 performers - dancers from Barrs Court School, Blackmarston with Marlbrook Primary Schools, Regency High School, Dancefest's Jigsaw Performance Company and Elevate youth dance companies, musicians Anthony Murphy and Pete Thorogood from The Music Pool, students from Hereford College of Arts, and The Courtyard's Youth Theatre.
The Communication Tree is part of Big Jigsaw, Dancefest's access and inclusion programme, which aims to challenge, surprise and push boundaries in inclusive dance, working across Herefordshire and Worcestershire with disabled and non-disabled people of all ages.
