A performance inspired by the architecture and history of this hidden Georgian church using dance, music and film.
St Swithun’s is one of the smallest of eight ancient parish churches in Worcester. Originally a medieval church and rebuilt in 1733-35, it was squeezed between the High Street and The Cross, the commercial hub of the city, and soon became the parish of the elite rich.
This promenade performance takes its audience on a unique journey through the real and imagined life of this historic church.
A place of light… a place of sadness… a place to hide…..
A place of celebration… a place of memories….. a place to linger
A cast of 40 dancers from Angel Dance Co Lab, St Swithun’s Collective (an intergenerational performance group specially created for Ashes to Ashes), DanceFest Choreography Group, Dancemakers Seniors, dFY and DanceFest teachers come together with the wonderful choir Colla Voce to create a fascinating performance in a beautiful setting.
