Colours of My Life

Dance, visual arts and film projects for special schools, and an inclusive dance summer school

Colours of My Life - Dance Yurt Project

Dance and visual arts project for special schools available throughout the academic year

A day of participatory movement and visual arts, led by teachers from Dancefest, that takes place in and around a specially constructed 'dance yurt’.

Based on colours of a beautiful rainbow: radiant reds, mellow yellows, calming greens, the brightest blue sea, a bright orange sunset burning in the sky, dream in colour, be creative.

Designed for small groups of pupils to work in and around the 'dance yurt’ (4 metres x 4 metres) which can be erected in a school hall or other medium to large space, or outdoors if the weather is warm and dry.

The format for the day is flexible, we can discuss with you how you would like your day to run – whole day with one group, or short sessions to include more classes.

We will create dance and art together using beautiful giant scarves, chalky collages and more, based on colours of the world, poems and quotes. A chance to explore and discover.

The film artist will create a film for each school bringing all your colour movement and creative tasks to life.

This is a x 6 week project led by teachers from Dancefest.

Sessions can be either 6 x 1 hour or 3 x 2 hours.

A film premiere will be organised by Dancefest on completion of the films for everyone who takes part.
